Biography:

Richard F. Sayage was born in 1961 in the great town of Brooklyn, NY. Surrounded by classical and Middle Eastern music all throughout his life, it was no small wonder that after receiving a degree in Business, he sought another degree in Musicology, at the age of 21. While pursuing other multiple advanced degrees, including Economics, Mathematics, and Business, he kept his focus on Music, having the good fortune to have met and studied numerous music theory disciplines with Sy Schaffer, guitar studies with Jerry Willard, as well as various other guitar masters, all while pursuing 10 years of education regarding composition, orchestration and conducting.

Owner and operator of Savage Classical Guitar, the largest classical guitar dealer on the East Coast, located in Bay Shore, NY, Richard also started a classical guitar music publishing company in 2002, known as Savage Classical Guitar Editions, which focuses on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach & Silvius Leopold Weiss. He also specializes in the repair, setup and restoration of stringed instruments, including classical guitars, cellos, violas, and violins, as well as vintage instrument restorations.

Over the years, touching upon various styles of guitar and playing, a profound love for the music of the Celtic genre became evident. Recordings and music books are in progress for release regarding this beautiful music. MP3s are available thru his popular web site at www.savageclassical.com

Richard lives by the waters of Bay Shore, Long Island, New York with his wife, Valerie, their two children, Dhiana and Samantha, and four lovable pussy cats.
