Marissa Connolly, Violin
Biography:

Marissa Connolly (Violin and Viola) has been playing the violin since the age of 6. She holds a bachelor degree from the Crane School of Music in Violin Performance and String Education. 

During her time at Crane she was appointed Concert Mistress of both the Crane Symphony Orchestra and the Crane Chamber Orchestra.

Her teachers include Masao Kawasaki, Barbara Hanafan, Irene Lawton, John Lindsey, and Matthew Pierce, who have studied the “Galamian Method" teaching style with Dorothy DeLay.

Miss Connolly has taught for six years in Suffolk and Nassau counties of New York as an Orchestral Director and Small Lesson Group teacher. Since her move to New York City she continues her teaching in Manhattan and Brooklyn. 

As a private teacher, she has taught numerous students who have participated and received high accolades in the New York State School Music Association festival (NYSSMA). Miss Connolly is also an active (NYSSMA) string judge.

(In a professional capacity) She has also served as a paid member of the Orchestra of Northern New York and currently plays violin with the South Shore Symphony, a voluntary group based in Rockville Centre, Long Island. She also continues to play regularly at paid events (weddings, banquets), as well as performances with the Amore and Amadeus opera companies. 

Currently, Miss Connolly is acquiring her Masters Degree in Violin Performance at CUNY Brooklyn College.
