Translation:

You who are made of ice,
You'll be won over by such flame,
You will love him as well,
You will love him as well!
Before the sun rises,
I will close my tired eyes,
and never see him again.
 About the Aria

This aria is from Puccini's Turandot, and is sung by the character "Liu." Liu is the servant of Prince Calaph, whom she is in love with. However, Prince Calaf is trying to win Princess Turandot's hand in marriage, but before he does, she must fail the riddle of trying to find out his true name by sunrise, which he has not revealed. Turandot's guards seized the servant girl Liu, and have just subjected her to torture to force her to reveal the name. Her great love for Calaf, though unrequited, gave her the strength to keep silent. Liu sings this aria to the Princess, telling her that, though she is cruel and made of ice, that the fire of the Prince's love will eventually melt her heart.
